We have grouped everything in 8 categories:
  1. Manufacturing: It’s the variable cost of producing one garment. From the materials, the labour, the label, prototyping, packaging and shipping to the UK. We also include Import tax (12%) as we manufacture in India.
  2. Management and Marketing:The grouped cost of warehouse management, marketing and social media.
  3. Staff Costs: The expenses directors of SAMVEGA have related to the business. From travelling, to food and accommodation.
  4. Other: These are all the overhead costs which belong to the company. From accountancy and legal fees to webpage domain, hosting and design. As it’s a fixed cost we divided the whole amount for the products made.
  5. Taxes: Here we enter the realm of the GST or Import VAT (20%) calculated over manufacturing cost, and the Income tax (19%) calculated over the gross profit after subtracting the Donation we have committed to make.
  6. Donation: SAMVEGA is committed in giving to NGOs 5% of the profit we make (the % and number in the graph is calculated over the retail price).
  7. R&D: 5% of our gross Income is dedicated to researching new fabrics, designs and prototyping our future lines of clothing.
  8. Net Income:This is what we earn from each garment that we sell. This is used to pay off our investors, friends and family who have supported the venture. This is also used to re-invest in fabrics, suppliers and to help SAMVEGA grow. The remainder is what is classically known as profit and what we refer to as our equal exchange for providing an honest and beautifully made product.

Please note, that any discount applied will impact directly on the net income, taxes and donation but not on any other costs.

We hope we made it clear enough so you understand the contribution you are making every time you purchase SAMVEGA clothing.
